Goku and the rest of the team head to the Null Realm, site of the battle stage. The 80 warriors assemble in the fighting arena in the Null Realm and the curtain rises on the battle for survival. The Universes get a taste of what it's like to be erased, after universe 9 is wiped out of existence, Krillin begins showcasing his newly-found powers. Universe 7 loses it's first participant. Brianne and her companions Sanka Ku and Su Roas announce themselves to the other fighters and begin to transform into their magical girl alter-egos.
After the transformation, they barrage the arena with a powerful attack that brainwashes some of the fighters. Hit and Dyspo begin to fight at the speed of light.
Hit is disadvantaged before Goku comes to help. The Kai Fuwa orders Frost to defeat a Universe 7 warrior. Frost readily agrees to this order, on the conditions that if Universe 6 wins, then his crimes will be forgiven and he will receive financial aid for starting his business again. Frost immediately goes after the Turtle Hermit. Frieza searches for his next opponent. Meanwhile Gohan is having a tough fight with Jimeze.
Seeing Frieza watch and smirk as Gohan gets knocked around, the Universe 7 team have the uneasy feeling that he has betrayed them. With the tournament more than halfway over the gods of Universe 11 order Jiren to squash Son Goku. Goku happily braces himself to fight Jiren, Universe 11's strongest warrior.
However, as Jiren unleashes his ki, it overwhelms all the contestants. Goku counters by becoming Super Saiyan Blue and raising Kaio-ken to the maximum. Goku rallies himself and pushes the Spirit Bomb back towards Jiren, which locks him in a stalemate.
As the two struggle to overpower each other, the Spirit Bomb suddenly condenses into a small black ball, which absorbs Goku and causes him to vanish.

He appears to be winning, but Kefla lands a sneak attack that knocks him out of Super Saiyan Blue. Kefla prepares to eliminate Goku, but Goku unexpectedly reawakens Autonomous Ultra Instinct again to easily dodge Kefla's attacks. After Goku enters his Autonomous Ultra Instinct in response to her power, Kefla responds by powering up to Super Saiyan 2 but is unable land a hit on Goku while his attacks are not strong enough to take her down.

Goku is left exhausted from his battle with Kefla as the Second Universe's five remaining warriors decide to attack him as Saonel and Pilina prevent Gohan and Piccolo from interfering, Vegeta overpowering Catopesra after a failed attempt to unlock his own Autonomous Ultra Instinct. Ribrianne and Roasie launch a combined attack at Goku which is deflected by the Androids, with Android 17 facing Roasie while Android 18 battles Ribrianne who refuses to acknowledge her after learning Krillin is her husband.
After the Androids execute a strategy to remove Roasie, Ribrianne reverts to Brianne de Chateau before managing to trap Android 18 while using her comrades' love to transform into a giant manifestation of her Super Ribrianne form.
